Gochujang Glazed Meat & Veggies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of rice
  • Ground meat (beef, turkey, etc.)
  • 1 pepper
  • 1 onion
  • 2 carrots
  • 4~6 cloves of garlic
  • Soy sauce or a substitute
  • Gochujang paste/sauce
  • Honey
  • Ginger
  • Garlic powder

Order of Operations

  1. Prepare 1 cup of rice and set aside
  2. Prepare veggies
    1. Core 1 (red, yellow) pepper and slice into thin strips
    2. Slice 1 onion or shallot into thin strips
    3. Shave 2 carrots into ribbons with a veggie peeler
    4. Mince 2 tbsp (4-6 cloves) of garlic
  3. Prepare sauce in small mixing bowl
    1. 2 tbsp soy sauce or substitute
    2. 3 tbsp gochujang
    3. 2 tbsp honey
    4. 2 tbsp water
    5. 1 tbsp garlic
    6. 1 tbsp ginger
  4. Mix sauce and set aside
  5. Bring cast iron skillet to heat, if using regular pan, add some oil
  6. Add meat of choice to pan and let it sear
  7. As meat sears, season with salt and pepper
  8. When meat is about 90% cooked, create hole in center by moving meat to sides of pan
  9. Add some extra oil
  10. Add onion & pepper and let them brown
  11. Add carrot ribbons and let them cook down
  12. Create another hole in center by moving meat and veggies to sides of pan
  13. Add sauce to pan and let it cook until it bubbles
  14. Stir meat and veggies thoroughly

Once thoroughly mixed, set pan to the side and prepare to serve.
