Market Order - using a brokerage to buy or sell 1 or more stocks as soon as possible, with the risk that the individual price of each stock may fluctuate after the order is placed and before the order is executed

Limit Order - using a brokerage to buy or sell 1 or more stocks when a stock hits a certain price, but the order will only trigger if the price remains the same through the time it takes for the order to execute

Stop Order - A combination of a Market and Limit order; using a brokerage to buy or sell when a certain price is reached, but with the risk that the individual price of your stock may fluctuate after your order is place and before it's executed
